What it costs, and what we do with your details
Free for you
Tutors pay to be listed. We never take a cut of your lessons, so the rate you agree is the rate you pay.
Your details stay private
Your request is never published. Only our team and the tutors we contact about it see your details.
Removed after three months
We delete your contact details three months after your request, keeping only an anonymous record.
DBS certificates recorded
Where a tutor shows a Verified DBS label, we hold their certificate number and have checked the document exists.
Tutors.Directory is a listing directory, not an agency. We introduce you to independent tutors; we don't employ them, set their prices, or supervise lessons. Arrangements, payments and safety are between you and the tutor.
Questions parents ask us
- How much does it cost parents and students?
- Nothing. Tutors pay an annual subscription to list with us, and we never take a commission from your lessons.
- What happens after I send my request?
- We read it, then start looking for independent tutors who teach your subject at the right level, near you or online. We email you as soon as we have someone to introduce.
- Who sees my contact details?
- Only our team, and the tutors we contact about your request. Your details are never published, and we remove them three months after your request.
- Do you check tutors?
- We record and check the existence of a tutor's DBS certificate before showing a Verified DBS label. Tutors.Directory is a listing directory, so lessons, payment and arrangements are always directly between you and the tutor.
- Can I change or withdraw my request?
- Yes. Use your reference and postcode, and we'll email you a short security code so you can edit or withdraw it.
