1. About Tutors.Directory

Tutors.Directory is an online listing platform that connects independent tutors with parents, students and other clients. We are not a tutoring agency, employer or educational institution. We do not vet, endorse or guarantee the quality, qualifications, identity or suitability of any tutor listed on the platform.

2. Tutor subscriptions

Tutors pay an annual subscription fee of £99 (plus an optional £12 contact-privacy add-on). A 14-day free trial is offered to new tutors. After the trial, the subscription continues annually unless cancelled. Tutors may cancel at any time; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No automatic refunds are offered, although discretionary refunds may be considered within 30 days of renewal or within the first 30 days of a new subscription if reasonable circumstances apply.

3. No commission

We do not charge clients any commission, booking fee or introduction fee. Any payments for tuition are arranged directly between the tutor and the client. We do not process lesson payments and are not party to any tutoring agreement.

4. Client due diligence

Tutors.Directory is a directory, not a tutoring agency. Where a profile shows a DBS certificate as being on file, this means the tutor has supplied their certificate number and issue date (currently by email to tutors.directory@outlook.com) and we have confirmed that the document exists. We do not assess, interpret or publish the contents of any certificate, and we do not share certificate numbers, as they contain sensitive personal data. Clients remain responsible for verifying a tutor's identity, qualifications and references, and for asking to see the original DBS certificate before or at the first lesson. We accept no liability for a client's failure to carry out adequate due diligence.

5. Listings and marketing

Tutors.Directory is a business-to-business marketing service for independent tutors. By publishing a listing, tutors grant us permission to display and promote that listing publicly, including in search engines, partner surfaces and AI-assistant answers. Tutors are responsible for the contact details they choose to publish and are strongly encouraged to use dedicated business contact details rather than personal ones. Listings can be hidden or removed by the tutor at any time from their dashboard.

6. Safeguarding

Tutors who work with children under 18 confirm during onboarding that they accept full responsibility for their own conduct, records and compliance. Tutors.Directory does not supervise, employ or monitor tutors. Parents and guardians remain responsible for the welfare and safety of any child receiving tuition.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tutors.Directory accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury, dispute or other claim arising from arrangements, communications, payments or meetings between tutors and clients. Your use of the platform is at your own risk.

8. Content and conduct

Tutors are responsible for the accuracy of their profile information. We reserve the right to remove or suspend profiles that are misleading, fraudulent, offensive or in breach of these terms. Users must not use the platform for unlawful purposes or to harass other users.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
